Blog Post #86/21/2019 ![]() Project Sharing: This is what our final poster looked like. Typing up all of the work was very time consuming, but it was pretty fun. A challenge that we faced here was not trying to read off of the poster. We had to memorize some of the lines so that we would connect with the audience more. One new thing that I learned about Foster Shelters is that there are about 443,000 kids in a foster home every day. ![]() This is what the poster looked like half-way done. We ended up adding a lot of color and pictures to the final product because we wanted it to be visually appealing, as well as informational. A challenge that we faced here was the layout of the poster. We wanted to make it look nice but also include all of the information, as well as some pictures. Another new thing that I learned about Foster Shelters is that the average amount of times that a foster child will move homes is between 4-6. Sometimes they could even move more than 15 times! ![]() In total, we raised $235 for Friends of Youth! Our goal was to raise between $150 and $300, and we reached it. A challenge for us here was actually raising the money. That was definitely the hardest part of the whole Courage Project. Another thing that I learned is that there are many restrictions on raising money, and we had to follow all of them. Reflection:

Blog Post #76/11/2019 The 5 qualities of a great presenter are being confident, organized, authentic, generous, and engaging. The 5 quick tips are to let your passion show, make your audience laugh, optimize your slides, use powerful visuals, and to simplify your messages. I think that my strengths as a presenter is being organized, authentic, and sometimes confidence. I think that engaging the audience will be the hardest for me to accomplish because it is difficult for me to always be telling a story and making sure that the audience is intrigued and interested. I am going to practice my presentation a lot with my partner and make sure to include jokes, and possibly even bring in a sample for the audience to receive. That way they have a better time watching our presentation.

Blog Post #66/11/2019 I prefer to use Citation Machine . I prefer to use this because it tells you what it found and what it did not find, and it also helps you easily create the citation to use. Finding all of the information that you need to cite your source is very time consuming, and sometimes you don't even find all of the information. But Citation Machine helps you get straight to all of the information that you need.

Blog Post #53/18/2019 Using the C.R.A.P. Test on websites helps to see if the source is reliable enough to use.
Currency:
I will be testing the C.R.A.P. Test on two websites, wikiHow and Classy.
Currency- The information is very recent, about a week ago was when it was last updated. Reliability- There are 148 co-authors that can be updated by anyone, so it is not very reliable. Authority- I could not find any background information and it is not clearly reliable, I do not know who the authors are. (They could be anyone) Purpose- The domain is a .com and the website does not seem biased. Source 2: Classy Currency- Published in 2019, and current enough to use for my topic. Reliability- The author has a link that you can go to to see more about her background information. Authority- The author is Terri Harel, with lots of background information about her that is easily accessible. Purpose- The domain is a .org and the website does not seem biased. In conclusion, you can clearly tell the Source 2 is a much better option to use as a reliable source. It provides more information, such as who the author was and their background information, as well as the fact that it is a .org (organization) instead of a .com (commercial).

Blog Post #43/5/2019 I got feedback from Tucker and his feedback was actually very helpful. He suggested to add a graph to my website to show how much progress we make each month for how much money we have raised. It is important to show our progress, since raising money is our main goal. My partners feedback said that we could also research the different shelters that are taking donations and figure out which one needs the money the most. We are going to apply this feedback to our website and our plan so that we have the best outcome possible.

Blog Post #112/5/2018 Genius Hour is when you spend 20% of your work time on a project that YOU want to work on, something that might just change the world. I am very excited to be working on this project, it will be very fun to help our world and the people on it. My group is thinking about raising money for foster homes. This will be a challenge because we have to figure out a way to raise the money, maybe going door to door and having a bake sale. Working in a group is a good thing because it will be easier to do this with another person, someone to help with the work. Some cons are that we might not decide on the same thing to do. If our foster home idea doesn't work out, then our back up plan is to donate to the food bank.
